Hi, my name is Kelly Rogers. I took Cyndi's course during the fall semester and learned so much. She invited me to participate this spring just to continue my learning. I taught in the the Lynchburg City Public School system for 6 years. Lynchburg is in Virginia. I currently live in California and homeschool my 4 children. I am interested in returning to the school system in the fall as I will be sending my children to school. I am sure if you are enrolled in Cyndi's course you will learn a lot and be amazed in the end at all you have accomplished. I did develop a website but have yet to update it. The link is: www.kellyrogers.net
THANKS for joining the conversations and the compliments. It sure is reassuring that I might be impacting these future teacher just a little bit. Looking forward to your contribution and maybe you might learn another new thing or two. Classes begin Wednesday so this should begin to grow shortly.
My name is Mathew Needleman I've been teaching English Language Learners for seven years in Los Angeles. I particularly enjoy using video production in the classroom.
I participated in the online discussion of another of Cyndi's classes and really enjoyed the interaction even though I'm not enrolled. I look forward to sharing and learning again.
Thanks for participating, I really appreciate the interaction you and other Teachers from the Trenches provide my students. It makes our class so much better!! I am looking forward to your input this semester. Class begins Wednesday (Jan 16), so things will be firing up this week.
I teach art and technology for grades 3-12 in a rural school near Wichita. This is my 14th year teaching, and every day is an entirely new experience! I love watching my students grow up and discover themselves. There is something so exciting about working with a student who has that 'aha' moment! I continue to be a life long learner - there is just so much out there waiting to be discovered!
I am Kristine Hepner. I am from Brush, Colorado. When I was a little I always used to come home from school and set up my own classroom in the living and play school... I was the teacher. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I have also had some very inspiring teachers in my past that have a had such a positive influence in my life; I hope to make a positive influence in children's lives.
My name is Ashley Sperry and I live in Garden City Kansas. I am currently substituting and I absolutley love it!! I was inspired to become a teacher by my 3rd grade teacher that showed so much compassion and love in what she did. She was a very kind teacher that was always there to help whenever it was needed.
Ashley....I accidentally hit the wrong tab on my 'moderate comments'on my blog.
Even old timers like me are still learning the techie tools..... Please come back and comment again. I felt AWFUL! http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/lbilak/
(I tried to retrieve the comment for ten minutes......)
My name is Danielle Kocher and I'm from Stafford. Since 2nd grade, I have dreamed of being an elementary school teacher. My second grade teacher was very organized, creative and full of energy, therefore, she inspired me to become a teacher. Growing up I remember playing school on a regular basis. I cannot remember my career plans ever changing. So here I am, in my last semester at FHSU in the teaching program. Because technology is becoming such a huge part of schools today, I know this class will help me to discover what is out there and how to effectively use it! :)
Hi, my name is Amber Simon. I am from Colwich, Ks and I am the oldest of three. I got engaged on 11-21-07 and I am getting married on 8-30-08! Once I get married my husband and I will move to Eureka, Ks where he will be a farmer and I will begin my student teaching. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. My name is Amber Stoecklein and I am from Garden City. I am a senior at Fort Hays and plan to student teach this coming fall. I have always been inspired to become a teacher, but I really started to become passionate about it when my younger sister was born. We are 11 years apart and as she grows up I enjoy teaching her new things and helping her. During high school I tutored 4th graders in math and I have been wanting my own classroom ever since. I always seem to want to find jobs that deal with children and I currently work at an after school program at an elementary school here in Hays...I absolutely love it!
